"Zach @ 10" Wins Blue Ribbon

What a fun night Saturday night was. I saw lots of friends, some I hadn't seen in years, at the opening reception of the Atlanta fine Arts League Exhibition at the Marietta Cobb Museum. It's such a great opportunity to exhibit in that beautiful space. You must get by to see the show. It will be open through June 26th. It was an honor to receive First Place among so many outstanding pieces. The jurors for the show were Karen and Neil Hollingsworth. Both are nationally recognized and highly accomplished artists. After the reception I got dance to my husband's band at a fundraising gala. It really turned out to be just a great evening.

Do you see the difference?

After I sent the last photo to my client, he called to say he loved it but his daughter pointed out that crabs are caught in the summer when the grass is green. I painted it as he sent it to me & I'm so glad he told me because I would have never known. I also made some other minor changes. Again, the colors seem to be off when I post to my blog. This photo seems muted and the skin tones are not as vivid as the original painting. I think I'm finished.

Atlanta Fine Arts League at Marietta/ Cobb Museum of Art

Atlanta Fine Arts League will spotlight it's members with an exhibition at the Marietta/ Cobb Museum of Art. The opening reception is Saturday, March 27th, 6 - 8PM.  The show runs through June 26. Guests are welcome to the reception. There will be light refreshments and a cash bar. The fee is $8. I hope you can join us for a wonderful evening of art. AFAL was created in 2005 as an artist's collective by a group of Atlanta area professional artists (I am one of them), working in representational genres to create opportunities for exhibitions, art and business education. We also offer opportunities for community service by bringing awareness and attention to various issues that affect our community as a whole. By sponsoring various arts projects, events and exhibitions designed to enrich the community, our artists are able to give back in their own unique way.
